Amanda Mailer posted this in Classic UI, Reporting on February 3rd, 2012 | In version 1.5, we released an Icinga Reporting Cronk pre-installed in the Icinga-Web interface. Though Icinga-Web users maybe happy, perhaps Icinga Classic users might appreciate the ability to generate flash looking reports too. Good news is, Icinga Reporting can also be used as an add-on to the JasperReports interface to edit, generate and send reports using [...]
formorer posted this in Core, Packages on December 30th, 2011 | Though users appreciate the thorough release and testing cycles at packages.debian.org, sometimes the latest Icinga is what you want, come what may. Indeed the current, official stable “squeeze” package for Icinga is a little behind Icinga’s fast release cycle at v1.0.2. Though more up-to-date backports are also available for “squeeze” and “lenny”, these still take [...]
Marius Hein posted this in Development, Releases, Webinterface on December 20th, 2011 | As the core team released 1.6.1, so do we. Download Icinga Web 1.6.1 on Sourceforge now. This release fixes many database related issues and in particular, resolves a authorisation dispatcher bug that hindered the import user function – cheers to user gpduck for the patch!
We also managed to slip in a new feature that [...]
Gunnar Beutner posted this in Development, IDOUtils on December 14th, 2011 | If you have upgraded to Icinga Web 1.6 you may already be familiar with the new SLA extension in IDOUtils. The optional module is our response to the old niggle from the community that data written to database could be better used. So we have taken the opportunity to add a table to the database [...]
Michael Friedrich posted this in Core, Releases on December 2nd, 2011 | Icinga Core 1.6.0 introduced a change on the freshness checks for passive check result and actually this lead into an unwanted bug as well as behaviour. Sorry for the inconvenience this caused for those actually having upgraded and experienced that bug. Thanks to Jörg Linge for finding the bug and all the others reporting feedback and [...]
It’s been nearly 2.5 years/906 days full of enhancements and refreshing development. Many things happen(ed) in the background which are not visible to everyone. Especially when it comes to comparing Icinga with its predecessor Nagios, it’s always hard to show Icinga in its best light and avoid bias at the same time.
As you might [...]
Gunnar Beutner posted this in Core, Development on October 10th, 2011 | In the lead up to version 1.6, we have been busy working on a new feature to improve Icinga’s performance in monitoring larger environments – IcingaMQ. Based on the ZeroMQ messaging library, IcingaMQ will improve core functionality in three areas.
At the moment, Icinga can monitor thousands of hosts and services with the help of [...]
Amanda Mailer posted this in Documentation, Webinterface on September 30th, 2011 | Icinga New Web was always designed with the larger organisation in mind. Often in such networks, Active Directory is used to manage the authentication and authorization of many users. So it makes sense to integrate the monitoring interface into this existing infrastructure. Luckily, it is very easy to set up Active Directory authentication in Icinga [...]
Marius Hein posted this in Releases, Webinterface on September 16th, 2011 | Just last week the core team released 1.5.1, and now as promised here is Icinga Web 1.5.2, ready for download. This version was mainly to resolve bugs, but we did manage to slip a couple new features in too:
Fixes – IE Java script fixes – Re-added info icons (Lazy loading, Active, Passive, Notifications [...]
Michael Friedrich posted this in Classic UI, Core, IDOUtils, Releases on September 9th, 2011 | As you may have noticed, the web developers already released a bugfixed 1.5.1 Icinga Web version (and 1.5.2 is to be announced soon). Now it’s time to fix some Core, Classic UI and IDOUtils related issues – so the core team is releasing 1.5.1 too :-)
