Every now and then, we hear: “Yeah, Icinga looks good… but really what’s the difference?”
So we decided to show you and the rest of the surfers out there, one big aspect that makes Icinga stand out from the crowd. The web team here has created an interface that is so flexible, customisable and insanely easy to use that can’t possibly be missed. So we’ve youtube-d it!
Check out the webcast to:
- Get familiar with the dashboard set up
- Watch the AJAX search in action
- See how to create your own views with filters
- Send compound commands
- Combine 2 views in 1
- Move around the dynamic status maps
- Adjust multi-principle user settings
… and all the other ins and outs of the interface. Happy viewing!

Ubuntu & Icinga rulez!! :)
Great presentation Amanda… that dark gloomy photo from the other day doesn’t do your work any justice!
Was that a hint of an Australian accent there? :-)
Ha ha, was afraid people would have noticed the Vegemite twang :)
Hey I don’t feel so lonely! :-)
tadaaa ;)
nice, now i want to use the new Webinterface in my enviroment ^^
On the Intro (0:18), there you can see the “Appkit Logviewer”.
Is this already ready for use, or we have to wait for a newer version?
Hi ReV,
the Appkit Logviewer is part of the icinga-web appkit. You can access the Logviewer with root privileges in the Admin-menu of Icinga.

Bernd
Danke Bernd,
nachdem ichs mir jetzt angeschaut hab, frag ich mich was in meinem Kaffee war…
Habs irgendwie mitm EventLog der zu überwachenden Systeme verwechselt :/
Naja bunte Logs sind immer gut :)
Nice one!
@ 9:30, are there any developmentguides for such Icinga-Addons?
Hi Stefan,
we are working on it right now, so we will have it ready very soon.
Cheers
Karolina
Very, very cool!
PS: I noticed a bug in the web demo – where should I report it?
Hi Pgl,
You can report bugs directly here:
https://dev.icinga.org/projects/icinga-web/issues
You just need to sign in/ register and the ‘add issue’ button will appear.
Thanks for contributing!
Amanda
Cheers for the pointer!
(Two bugs to report now – one with the registration process! Heh.)
