We are planing to provide other databases than MySQL within the next Icinga Versions. Would you like to vote for your favourite database so that the Icinga Project fits your needs.

Just voted for MySQL – Most experience with it
@César
Yeah Postgre is quite interesting but my ressources are focusing on Oracle this time. It would be much appreciated if you could look up actual code (and normalized inserts by Hendrik) at GIT [1] and then post different queries for Postgre in case on the icinga-devel mailinglist [2]. Then we are able to push more code to GIT and everyone is able to test it while we are working on Oracle and also the performance fixes for the IDO.
For further questions, you can also join irc.freenode.net/6667 #icinga, #icinga-devel and we may discuss over there (or on the mailinglists if you like to).
Kind Regards,
Michael

Can’t vote… What happens, using a MySQL transactional engine or what ? :-)
Perhaps you have still done it ;-) I don’t know
it’s “other databases THAN mysql”, not “then mysql”…
changed thank you
Listening to users is very much appreciated!
In this case, it seems to me that technical issues should be the deciding factor. Most applications don’t try to shoot for supporting X number of databases. They work with one database, and do that very well. Since databases generally can coexist in small installations, or in large installations would have a dedicated server anyway, I would vote for “pick on technical merit and licensing and then just dictate.”
That said, I was missing one important choice: MSDE/SQL Server Express.
You should try http://couchdb.apache.org/
